RottieFest - the place for Rotties to shake their Botties

RottieFest 2010 - Event Review

2010 saw the second ever RottieFest hosted following the events successful launch in 2009.

RottieFest is a get together of Rottie Lover's (and their dogs) and anyone else associated with or interested in the Rottweiler breed to meet up with like minded people for a fun filled relaxed day and to help raise awareness of the breed and also to raise money for the many Rottweilers that are helped by Keythorpe Rottie Rescue whom are based at the venue and who host the event as their annual fundraiser.

Also benefiting from this years fundraising at RottieFest was Rottweilers In Need, whom received the sum of £124.26 from a raffle held in their aid and proceeds from sales of RottieFest merchandise.

Having brought the event forward into June we were blessed with superb weather for RottieFest 2010 and had a good turnout with everyone enjoying taking part and entering their dogs, be they Rottweilers or other breeds, in the various classes, be they serious or fun ones.

A super display of agility for fun, albeit not by a Rottweiler, was hosted by Alistair Bray of Lone Wolf Agility.  An informal talk about showing and ringcraft was hosted by showing of our showing supporters.

Some extra fun games were started between the main RottieFest show schedule and the evening bbq which this year consisted of slow spit roasted pork joints the smells of which had wafted across the show field for some hours before the bbq was lit for the sausages and chicken to be freshly cooked.  Once again everyone had as much food as they wanted which was washed down with plenty of ale - a perk to camping overnight - no designated drivers needed.

The Sunday breakfast was popular once again with the added benefit this year of the new onsite wc and shower block allowing people to have a hot shower before packing up and heading off home.

Roll on RottieFest TwentyEleven!  We'll see you there!
