RottieFest 2009 - Event Review
2009 saw the first ever RottieFest hosted - a Rottweiler dedicated event!
RottieFest is a get together of Rottie Lover's (and their dogs) and anyone else associated with or interested in the Rottweiler breed to meet up with like minded people for a fun filled relaxed day and to help raise awareness of the breed.
We were blessed with good weather for RottieFest 2009 and had a good turnout with everyone enjoying taking part and entering their dogs, be they Rottweilers or other breeds, in the various classes, be they serious or fun ones.
Good quality sensibly priced food was available all day and demonstrations courtesy of The Dogfather were enjoyed by all.
The evening bbq was a success with many attending during the Saturday stopping on late into the evening and the freshly bbq'd food over a charcoal fire was more than ample and went down a storm.
Many visitors made a long weekend of it and stopped over in tents and caravans, some cooking for themselves in the morning but many, choosing to be lazy and opt for the full english breakfast.
There were some stargazers among us and with the event showground being located in some outstandingly beautiful countryside free of light pollution, with the clear night sky there were some amazing distant sights to be seen through the telescope.
Roll on RottieFest TwentyTen! We'll see you there!
